BEGINNINGS.

I am a part time creative and full time lover of the wildness. I have been into artistic endeavors since I was a kid playing guitar, singing and photographing everything in sight. My parents were from upstate New Jersey and my grand parents on my mom's side were involved with performance and cinema from the beginning. My grandfather ran a company that processed movies for the airlines which quickly evolved into a trucking company that would ferry the edited movies form the warehouses in New Jersey to New York city and back. My grandfather always had the latest new camera and collected every Polaroid from the beginning of time. My grand mother was in vaudeville under the stage name of Amelia Cocha and performed extensively in New York City. My grand mothers legacy is that she taught Fred Astaire to dance.

My dad was Navy so as a child we traveled the across the US moving every two to four years until we finally settled in the northern Virginia area where he eventually retired. My middle and high school years were spent exploring and back packing in near by Shenandoah National Park. Through a high school club I became involved in rock climbing which consumed my life for the next decade. Together with friends we hit the then climbing hot spots to include West Virginia, Colorado, Yosemite, the Grand Teton range and the mountains of Alberta. The entire time I loved to shoot documentary style capturing our amazing feats for posterity with a 35mm camera. This was all during the early 70's on through the 80's.

Fast forward to 2007 where through the magic of the Internet I discovered the Radiant Vista and re-kindled my interest in photography. Photography workshops seemed like a great way to spend time in the wilderness while learning the skills necessary to capture the vision of what was before me. Spent a good bit of time and money on this endeavor but through my own arrogance was never able to open up enough to let others teach me what I needed to learn. I thought I already knew it all - after all, I had been a photographer all my life. Or so I thought.

Anyway, if you have gotten this far you should know the truth. This content is really just to fill out the About page on this site until I can come up with content that actually is creative. One day, I will finish my story, but hopefully in a way that entertains. Thanks for reading anyway.
